Breeding partridges at home in detail. Video "The appearance of partridges into the world"

This small bird of the pheasant family has always been an object of sport and commercial hunting.

Partridge meat has excellent nutritional properties, excellent taste, high content of valuable protein and a minimum amount of carbohydrates.

It is no coincidence that in recent years partridge has attracted not only hunters, but also private poultry farmers, and in expensive metropolitan restaurants they offer delicacies from partridge meat.

What breeds of partridges to choose for breeding at home?

Until recently, the breeding of partridges in captivity was purely experimental, today in Russia there are dozens of farms where these miniature representatives of the pheasant family are successfully bred.

As a rule, in the post-Soviet space it is practiced breeding gray partridges, which live almost everywhere in our country (except for its northern regions).

This is a small bird (approximately the size of a hazel grouse), the weight of an adult varies from 350 to 600 grams, on average, the weight of a bird kept in captivity is 400-500 g.

The gray partridge is considered the most prolific of all partridge species, often with more than 20 eggs in its clutch (the female lays 1 egg per day). Only after laying the last egg, the partridge begins to incubate.

Red partridge Spanish- Another species of partridge, which is well assimilated in the household. Outwardly, this small, well-fed bird is very similar to its close relative, the keklik. In the wild, this species is found in the mountains of France and Spain. At the moment, the red partridge is bred mainly for decorative purposes.

Fundamentals of keeping and caring for chicks and adult birds

However, open enclosures are not the best option, because the partridge not only runs fast, but also flies remarkably. Moreover, she does it so noisily that she raises the whole flock.

For the first generations of domesticated partridges, enclosures closed on all sides, installed in a quiet place, will be the best place to keep them.

Partridge chick at two and three weeks old

It is advisable to assemble the frame of the aviary from wooden beams and poles, and use a mesh not metal, but nylon with a small cell (1x1 cm). In this case, the bird will not injure itself with blows during takeoff.

  • Myself the house must be spacious, the optimal height of the enclosure is 1.8-2.2 m. The area of \u200b\u200bthe poultry house depends on the number of guests: at least 0.5 square meters of territory is required for each bird.
  • In the aviary create conditions close to natural- bushes, sheaves of hay and other shelters are placed in them.
  • Part of the house must be closed so that the partridges have somewhere to hide from the weather. At the entrance, a vestibule is necessarily arranged to prevent the escape of the bird during feeding.
  • Shallow wide feeders are placed in the poultry house, install drinking bowls and baths with sand. Hay or straw must be placed on the floor in winter.

Experience shows that the premises where partridges in summer and winter, should have natural light, because the lack of ultraviolet delays the start of the breeding season.

Breeding partridges is a process that requires a special approach. The fact is that this bird is monogamous in the wild - with the onset of spring, males and females break into pairs and live in “families” throughout the summer season. At the same time, the male takes an active part in the rearing of the younger generation.

At home, it is also necessary to form pairs. If the female drives and pecks the male, then he should be replaced with another. If birds of different sexes behave calmly towards each other, then it is considered that the pair is formed.

What to feed a domestic partridge?

The formation of the daily diet of a domesticated partridge should be approached responsibly. Nutrition should be varied, balanced and fortified.

Empirically, the types of food that partridge chicks and adults eat with appetite, without scattering and without leaving half-eaten, were identified.

These are the following types of grains and seeds:

  • Wheat.
  • Lentils.
  • Sunflower seeds.
  • Millet.
  • Buckwheat.
  • Crushed barley.

Chopped fruits and vegetables:

  • Apples.
  • Pears.
  • Plums.
  • Cabbage.
  • Cucumbers.
  • Zucchini.
  • Red Ribes.
  • Carrot.
  • Sugar beet.

Fresh greens:

  • Dandelion.
  • Alfalfa.
  • Nettle.
  • Clover.
  • Shoots and leaves of weeds.
  • Salad.

Mineral top dressing is desirable to pour into a separate feeder in crushed form. Such a mixture usually includes sand, ready-made mineral supplements, chalk and calcium gluconate, and eggshells.

Digestion in partridges it is arranged in such a way that their stomach digests raw grain more easily than heat-treated grain. Wet mixers prepared in arbitrary proportions with the addition of chopped grass have proven themselves well. In winter, partridges are fed berries of lingonberries, viburnum, mountain ash.

It is important to remember that underfeeding, like overfeeding, is equally harmful to birds. The total weight of food fed per day for one partridge should be 40-50 grams of grain mixture, with two meals a day.

In the first two days, newborn chicks of partridges are fed with the yolk of a boiled egg grated through a large sieve. Further, the crumb of white bread soaked in milk is gradually introduced into their diet, and then they gradually switch to adult food.

Common illnesses

Young partridges often suffer from atrophy of the muscular stomach. This pathology develops as a result of regular feeding of chicks with monotonous mealy foods and insufficient presence of sand and fine gravel in the feeders.

Often there are cases of beriberi caused by a deficiency of vitamins of groups A, D and B. To prevent the disease, partridges should be provided with fresh herbs, carrots and other vegetables containing carotene and vitamin A.

Keeping domesticated birds in poorly ventilated areas can lead to serious respiratory health problems.

Where to buy partridges or hatching eggs for breeding?

The following farms are engaged in the sale of partridges and hatching eggs in Moscow:

  • RUS ZOO nursery, located at the address: Moscow, Novomoskovsky AO, Filimonkovskoye settlement, Koncheevo village.
  • Peasant farming of the Simbirevs, Moscow region, the village of Ivashkovo, Shakhovsky district.

In the Leningrad region:

  • LLC "Lenoblpticeprom", Leningrad region, Gatchinsky district, Tervolovo settlement.
  • Kuraferma, Leningrad region, Gatchinsky district, Small Kolpany village, Zapadnaya st., 7.

The estimated cost of a pair of gray partridges is 1000-3000 rubles, depending on age. Partridge hatching eggs are sold at an average of 80-100 rubles apiece.

Breeding partridges at home implies the domestication and cultivation of wild birds, the creation of comfortable conditions for its living in order to obtain eggs and meat. Today, two opinions have been established regarding the complexity of this process: some argue that there is nothing complicated in this, while others, on the contrary, warn against large investments and difficulties. Let's find out more about this together by talking about the intricacies of caring for these birds.

Partridges are small gray wild birds from the pheasant family, which have been known to us since time immemorial, as a favorite trophy of many hunters. And although none of the species of these birds today is endangered or protected due to sport and commercial hunting, partridges are increasingly being bred at home. According to experts, this is a very interesting and profitable business. After all, the meat of these birds has long been a real delicacy and is highly valued due to its exceptional gastronomic qualities.

At present, the industrial breeding of these birds has not been established, although some batches of partridges were grown for the first time in our country in 1972 at the Astrakhan state special hunting farm. Until 1988, about 20 thousand artificially bred birds were released in different regions of the Soviet Union. In 2003, the Astrakhanskoye enterprise also continued to breed game, but today they have focused more attention on pheasantry. Well, let's try to figure out what is the breeding of partridges at home.

Since the partridge is a wild bird, some important points should be remembered when growing it at home. Firstly, the white meat of these birds is a desirable prey not only for many predators, but also for birds of prey. They are often attacked by hawks and even crows. That is why the first rule is to protect your farm well with the help of aviaries and comfortable shelters.

Secondly, partridges in the wild get used to certain foods, so you should not feed them the same way as the rest of the poultry. Read more about the rules of feeding in our next article. As for the territory for walking, in addition to the fact that it must be protected from all sides, there must be a natural shelter - bushes. In the wild, partridges live in forested areas with dense vegetation, so they like to hide in shady areas. Blackthorn, wild rose or any other shrubs can be planted in the aviary.

So, if you decide to breed partridges, of course, the first question that you will have is where to get a bird? Let's say right away that it's easiest to start with adult birds. You can catch them yourself while hunting (which is not easy enough) or buy them from farmers. Definitely a must have pair. Another option is to find or again buy eggs and raise chicks. The latter method is the most time-consuming and requires additional knowledge on rearing chicks. But, if there is no opportunity to find an adult bird, then this method will have to be used.

Recall that the gray partridge, which is most suitable for home breeding, today lives in nature in most of our country. So, for example, the distribution area occupies a zone from the borders of the CIS countries to Altai, the entire northern zone to South Karelia. The bird settles near the upper reaches of the Pechora and separate populations near the White Sea.

The female partridge lays eggs from the end of April, as a rule, lays no more than 15 eggs. Hatching offspring up to 26 days. At home breeding, partridge lays eggs from March to July and during this period can produce up to 60 pieces. But such indicators are possible only under the right conditions of care and observance of an extended light regime. So, for example, since January, the length of daylight hours for birds should be at least 15 hours.

So, if you have adult partridges, there is little left to do: proper feeding and keeping conditions. Another thing is if you get the eggs of these wild birds. By the way, taming chicks, as practice shows, is much easier. To get offspring you need:

  1. Take a small basket measuring 30 * 30 centimeters, cover it with a dense layer of straw and hay.
  2. Lay the eggs in such a way that they do not touch each other and lay with the blunt end down. Every two days for 15 days they should be rotated.
  3. Place the basket itself in a cool place, but put a light hen on the eggs.
  4. After about 25 days, the chicks are born. On the first day, we leave them with a hen in this basket, after which we transplant them into a separate cage, divided into two sectors.
  5. When the chicks grow up and get stronger, they can be released in a small aviary on the grass. Babies need dry soil and sun to develop well.
  6. After one week, the chicks are removed from the hen. In a month, the birds should already walk independently in the aviary.

Partridge chicks on the first day of life give a mashed yolk of a boiled chicken egg. Then, in the following days, chopped greens of dandelion, yarrow, cabbage can be mixed into it. After you can give some white bread and crumbs. But for 4-5 days, introduce semi-cooked meat or ant eggs into the diet. Feed babies in the morning and afternoon, gradually increasing the amount of food.

When purchasing partridges, you must remember that unlike all other poultry, they are not polygamous. If in winter they live in nature in large flocks of up to 30-80 individuals, then in spring they break into pairs. Therefore, it is imperative to have paired birds, with subsequent breeding, the male plays a very important role in raising offspring.

Do not forget that during the mating period, free walks of different pairs in the same enclosure should not be allowed, as the males will fight. That is, each couple must be provided with a separate “apartment” and an area for walking.

In the rest of the period, a large pen for partridges is not required. In the room for keeping them in the cold season, it is necessary to lay a warm, dry bedding and change it regularly. No cracks or holes should be allowed. Not only rodents can penetrate into them, but also drafts are created, which are extremely undesirable for birds.

Partridges should be placed in a quiet place without harsh noise, as the bird is very shy. There should be a net on top, because, frightened, one female can fly up and drag the whole herd with her. As for the nest for masonry, females dig holes in thick grass or under bushes for this purpose. The bird covers the nest with dry grass, leaves or its own fluff.

Of course, none of their poultry farmers want to spend a lot of time and energy on growing partridge and lose it due to diseases and other adverse factors. Fortunately, the gray species of a wild bird is distinguished by good immunity and tolerates even slight cold well. However, infectious diseases, as well as low-quality grain, can be risk factors. Therefore, for your "expensive" birds, it is important to buy only high-quality food, or it is best to grow it yourself, if the garden allows. Keep partridges away from other poultry or animals. See the video for more details on this.

In this article, using the example of the household of Boris Kravchik, a resident of Shakhta, you can see how partridges can be kept, consider in detail the appearance of females and males of these birds, as well as the approximate arrangement of their winter quarters.

Do you need advice?

I read your article and was delighted. But after I called my friend (he kept 200 partridges 3 years ago), it turned out that there was more than enough trouble with these birds, and even a specific stench from them. An acquaintance said that he was already used to them, and his wife could not stand the smell. So the birds had to say bye-bye. Tell me, you don’t say anything about the stench from these little birds, but I would like to know if this is so and how to deal with it? And then recently there was a great demand for their eggs, so I'm thinking of getting one somehow. I don’t want my wife to kick me out of the house because of the smell :).

But the bush must be in the aviary of partridges? Or is it only with an abundance of space? Can just thrown branches work?

Good day. I live in the Sverdlovsk region. Where would you recommend getting quail eggs for breeding?

    • Costs and incomes for laying hens

    • The diet of productive geese
    • Diet of breeding turkeys
    • The diet of guinea fowl
    • Quail diet

    • Okrola rabbit
    • farrowing sow
    • Lambing sheep
    • Calving cow
    • mare's foals
    • Goat lambing

  • And although partridges are mainly kept in aviaries and in small rooms, you may need a cage for temporary winter keeping of birds or for short-term keeping of several pairs. For this, of course, you do not need to buy anything, as it is possible for partridges with your own hands. How? Find out with us.

If you are seriously interested in breeding and raising these birds, then you have come across such information more than once that a cage is not the best home for partridges. Yes, that is right. For long-term keeping and as the main place of breeding, they are not very suitable, since, unlike the aviary, they are far from the natural living conditions of birds. Do not forget that the partridge is, first of all, a wild bird that requires special attention.

But this does not mean that such a house cannot be used at all. If you do not have the opportunity to make a comfortable aviary, you can also make a cage, but according to special rules. It must meet the basic requirements:

In different countries, partridges are kept in all kinds of cages and cages. For example, in many farms in France, it is customary to build mesh enclosures raised above the ground by about 70 centimeters for these birds. The side walls of such houses are made of plywood or plastic, the floor is mesh with a 1x1 centimeter cell, the ceiling is made of fine mesh and also covered with a sheet of plastic. In such enclosures they contain up to 50 birds at the rate of 3 individuals per square meter.

In Hungary, for example, wild birds are kept at home in outdoor enclosures with plank walls and mesh tops. Outside of the breeding season, five individuals live in such enclosures, separately females from males. In Italy, partridges are usually raised in battery cages for ordinary chickens. As you can see, the concept of keeping and growing these "beauties" in many foreign countries is approached differently. Our experience in breeding birds still shows that it is better to grow partridges in aviaries or special raised cages.

    Preparing for production

So, in order to make cages for partridges with your own hands, first of all, you need to prepare the necessary material and tools. How much material to take depends on how many partridges will live in the cage and how many livestock you have. It is best to count 1 square meter for three individuals. For the construction we need:

    • wooden blocks or boards;
    • plywood sheets;
    • mesh with a small cell for walls and ceilings, with a medium cell for the floor;
    • tools for woodworking;
    • wire;
    • nails.

    Step-by-step instruction

    1. The first thing we start making a cage with our own hands is a frame made of wooden blocks. First, we need to make three compartments, the middle of which (length about 120 centimeters) we will fit on all sides with a mesh (cell about 1.5-2 centimeters), the rest will be covered with plywood.
    2. We make two side compartments 40 centimeters long each.
    3. There is a frame, now we cover it with material: the floor is mesh, the top and side walls of the middle compartment are mesh, the other two compartments are closed on all sides (except the floor) with plywood sheets.
    4. We hang special fasteners to both ends of the cage, on which we hang the feeder boxes. We also make them from plywood or, if possible, from plastic. The size of the feeders: height - about 50 centimeters, width - 15 centimeters. Inside, we must install a convenient drinker. It can be automatic, but normal is better.
    5. Now we make support-legs for our cage and you're done. It remains only to plant partridges.

Most farmers are skeptical about such an activity as raising wild birds. However, the demand for such products is increasing day by day. Therefore, partridge breeding is considered a profitable business. The main thing is to know all the subtleties.

    Business Benefits

Partridge farming as a business has several key benefits. Firstly, this bird is not demanding to care for. There is no need to create special conditions for keeping partridges. In addition, the wild bird is unpretentious to the diet.

If desired, you can sell not only partridge meat, but also eggs. Such products are always in demand. And another advantage of this kind of activity is a small number of competitors.

    Features of business registration

Breeding partridges at home, like any business activity, must be registered. Of course, almost everyone can start their own business. It is enough to have financial resources to buy or rent a land plot, as well as to build a small farm.

However, to begin with, it is worth registering yourself as an individual entrepreneur. Especially if large-scale breeding of wild birds is planned in the future. As for the direction of activity, it is necessary to select “breeding of poultry” during registration. After receiving the taxpayer number and all relevant documents, you can proceed with the construction of the complex and the purchase of young partridges.

    Pre-entrepreneurial risks

A business such as growing partridges has several significant drawbacks. Among them:

    • Susceptibility of birds to infectious diseases. Partridges have a weak immune system. Therefore, experts recommend enriching their diet with vitamins and minerals.
    • Partridges develop quite quickly. Females lose their ability to lay eggs after 9 months.
    • Partridges are quite impressionable birds. Females can lose the ability to lay eggs for about two weeks under stressful situations. This can occur when changing feed, loud noise, and so on.
    • To conduct business, a conclusion and additional certificates from the veterinary service are required.

Before starting an entrepreneurial activity in this direction, it is worth carefully weighing the decision and correctly assessing all the advantages and disadvantages of such a business.

    Requirements for the premises

Breeding and keeping partridges at home does not cause any particular difficulties. After registering an individual entrepreneur, it is worth starting the selection of outbuildings. The room for the bird must be warm. It should not have drafts. As for the bedding, it should always be clean and dry. Next to the corral, you should equip a small area for walking partridges.

The room itself should be large enough. Many experts say that one square meter of free space is required for one partridge. Do not raise wild birds in a cage. This method is relevant only for small chicks.

If the room is small, then up to three partridges are allowed per square meter. It is also worth considering that such a wild bird has its own characteristics. When the period of incubation of eggs and rearing of chicks comes, partridges live in pairs.

    Aviary or cage?

Some entrepreneurs are breeding birds in aviaries. This method has its own characteristics. There should be tall grass in the enclosures. It is also worth considering that partridges prefer to hide in the shade. Therefore, it is necessary to plant several bushes inside the aviary. When choosing this method of growing, do not forget about birds of prey. Hawks and crows are a danger to partridges.

Some farmers raise wild birds in small cages. This approach is justified if there is no large land plot. However, in such conditions, wild birds do not feel very well, which affects the amount of production.

Breeding partridges at home for a novice farmer can seem like a laborious process. However, it is not. Growing partridges is much easier than raising chickens. The main thing is to have enough land.

    Where to get partridge

There are several ways to get partridges: buying or self-breeding chicks, hunting. Everyone chooses a more acceptable method for themselves. The easiest way is to acquire small chicks and thereby start breeding.

If there is a desire to grow a livestock from eggs, then you will have to try. In order for the chicks to hatch, an incubator is required. In this case, you will need to constantly monitor the eggs and turn them over. It is worth considering that the chicks do not appear soon. It is much easier to purchase eggs with a mother hen if finances allow.

    Where to begin

Breeding partridges is a profitable business, but not everyone can afford it. For starters, you should just try and lay no more than 10 eggs. This will allow you to assess your strengths and identify all sorts of difficulties that may arise in the process of growing wild birds. It will also allow you to calculate the profitability of the business.

It is worth noting that a laying hen during one season is about 60 eggs. This is a fairly high productivity indicator. Over time, the population can be increased.

    How to breed chicks

In order for partridge breeding to be profitable, it is necessary to constantly increase the number of birds. To save money, you can breed offspring yourself. To begin with, it is worth buying eggs or two individuals of different sexes. To get chicks, you must do the following:

    • A small wicker basket must be covered with a layer of dry hay.
    • Lay the eggs on the bedding. You need to place them with the blunt end down and so that they do not touch.
    • The basket should be placed in a cool place, and put the hen in it.
    • Eggs should be gently turned over every two days for two weeks.

    Chick care

Chicks usually hatch after 25 days. Initially, they can be left with a hen, and after a while they are transplanted. At this stage, proper nutrition is important for the chicks. It is not worth releasing them into the aviary right away. This can be done only a month after the chicks hatch.

In the early days, it is worth feeding them with boiled yolks from chicken eggs. Gradually, chopped greens, such as cabbage or dandelion, can be introduced into the diet. On the 5th day, the chicks can begin to give crumbs of white bread, ant larvae, as well as boiled meat. You should feed twice a day. At the same time, the amount of feed must be increased as the chicks grow.

    Feeding an adult bird

How to set up a partridge breeding business at home? It is worth dwelling in detail on the choice of food for wild birds. The formation of the diet should be approached with special responsibility. Many aspiring entrepreneurs make a lot of mistakes. The first of them is feeding partridges with compound feed for chickens. This is not worth doing, since birds have completely different calorie needs. Partridges are unpretentious in terms of diet. Therefore, cereals are ideal as feed.

For the base of the diet, it is worth choosing cake after careful processing of wheat or oats. You can also add corn to the menu. It is also not recommended to subject the feed to heat treatment. The digestive system of partridges is designed so that it is easier for her to digest raw grains. It is also important to monitor the amount of food. Do not overfeed partridges or starve them.

In terms of calories, the diet of each individual during the warm period should be from 270 to 300 calories. In winter, the need for nutrients drops significantly. The calorie content of the diet at this time should be no more than 90 calories.

    What to fear

When breeding and keeping partridges, some problems may arise. The most dangerous for wild birds are infectious diseases. To eliminate the risk of death of the entire livestock, it is worth keeping pets and partridges separately.

At the same time, they should be fed with fresh products. The diet of partridges must be enriched with vitamins and trace elements. This will increase their immunity and protect against many diseases.

    Estimated costs

Breeding domestic partridge is a fairly profitable occupation. Especially for start-up entrepreneurs. However, starting such a business requires initial capital. The main costs include:

    • construction of corrals - from 30 thousand rubles;
    • the first partridges - 5 pairs cost 10 thousand;
    • purchase of feed and compound feed - depends on the number of livestock;
    • assistants salary - from 15 thousand per month.

The amount of costs increases if the land is leased.

    How much profit

Of course, this indicator is of interest to beginner entrepreneurs in the first place. One female is able to carry from 50 to 60 eggs per season, and 5 females - from 250 to 300. For one piece, you can get 15-20 rubles. Profits for eggs can be 3-5 thousand. However, it is much more profitable to sell partridge meat. This product is considered useful and is in demand. It is worth considering that in the first year it will not work to start selling meat. It will be more profitable after the increase in livestock.

The price of one kilogram of meat is 1 thousand rubles. Already in the second year it will be possible to make a profit of 100,000 or more. This figure will gradually increase.

    In conclusion

Breeding partridges and selling their meat is not the most expensive activity. In addition, this niche is not yet occupied, and the business is considered promising. This guarantees a stable income. That allows you to return the invested funds in a short period of time. You can sell finished products through restaurants, specialized stores. But if you wish, you can open your own outlet.

Entrepreneurial people often begin to think about what kind of business to open with minimal investment. Nowadays, farming is becoming more and more popular. , poultry, cattle is also other countries. We bring to your attention a guide to running a simple and profitable partridge business, as well as detailed instructions for their care and maintenance.

Partridges are unpretentious and require little investment. In addition, caring for these birds can bring you as much pleasure and profit as you can. Moreover, income can be received both from the sale of meat and from the sale of eggs.

    How to start breeding partridges?

Starting any business requires planning. You will need to consider the size of your farm and, based on this, choose the size and number of specialized premises, as well as purchase feed and vitamins. It is also necessary to know that the breeding of birds and animals is accompanied by mandatory preventive measures in veterinary clinics.

    Room selection

Most likely, you will have to build the room intentionally from scratch. It must be dry, clean and warm. A very important aspect is regular cleaning and bedding change. It is desirable that the building be spacious, otherwise the likelihood of illness and death of birds will increase. To this room, it will also be necessary to make a special extension-aviary for walking. To do this, you should use a net so that partridges do not fly away. Contact with other birds should also be avoided to avoid infectious diseases. Depending on your desires, you may need more than one room, and then you will need a large plot of land. How much it will cost you, you can calculate by.

    feed base

As we have already noted, partridges are unpretentious and wild birds. Their content does not require large amounts of feed, however, in addition to chicken feed or grain, the choice of which also does not really matter, and vitamins, it is advisable to give them fresh grass, vegetable trimmings. Birds need animal protein. Namely - bugs and earthworms. It is important to change the water in the drinker so that it is always clean. As a mineral food supplement, you can use chalk or egg shells.

Advice: If you don't plan to stock up on expensive bird food and are going to feed them "from your table," be careful not to get salt, chemicals, glass shards, or foreign objects in your feed.

    Receiving offspring

Laying and incubation of eggs in partridges at home lasts from March to July. The hatching of offspring can be entrusted both to the birds themselves and to specialized incubators that can be bought or listed in the catalog. Moreover, in both cases, the chicks will have to be kept separately from the adult bird. For this, a wooden or cardboard box or cage is suitable. At first, the offspring will need warmth, and after about a month, when they get stronger, they will need the sun and dry, clean land. You don’t have to particularly choose food, because from the first days the chicks will eat boiled chicken eggs grated on a fine grater. Gradually, it will be possible to introduce small light grass and pieces of dandelion into the diet.

Advice: from the first days, partridge chicks may not be able to eat on their own, however, if they lightly sprinkle their backs with grated egg, which will move with them, they will peck it from each other and thus learn faster. In addition to a boiled egg, you can give a little cottage cheese as an element of animal protein instead of bugs and worms.

Where to get birds for breeding?

Since partridges are found in the wild, they can be simply caught and domesticated. But if you decide to buy them, you won't have to spend a lot of money. You can buy a lot of birds at once, taking, for example, but for a start it is better to take a few partridges “for testing”. It is important that the first batch contains both males and females. Buying four pairs will cost you about 8-10 thousand rubles. There is an option to buy not adults, but eggs that can be laid in an incubator. However, there is a small risk associated with the fact that not all purchased eggs may produce offspring.

    Partridge breeding costs

So, to build houses and aviaries, you will need lumber, slate, mesh. You can build it yourself, as their design is quite simple. In general, one such building will cost about 10-15 thousand rubles, excluding work. Buying feed for a small farm will cost relatively inexpensively - about 15-20 thousand rubles a year. Agree, investments are really small.

    Sales markets and revenues

The price for the meat of an outlandish bird is about 1 thousand rubles per kilogram, and one egg costs 15-20 rubles. Unfortunately, in the first year it will hardly be possible to sell a lot of meat and eggs, but every year the number of birds and their eggs will grow, which means that incomes will also grow. Restaurants are likely to be willing to buy partridge meat and eggs from you on a regular basis, since the competition in this type of farming is minimal. You can also sell products to individuals.

Breeding partridges is a low-cost and profitable activity. It is suitable as a start for aspiring entrepreneurs, who later will be able to open, for example, a grocery store with the proceeds, or continue to develop in the future.
