Bacon crusted meatloaf recipe

Ingredients:

  • 500 gr. minced meat
  • 1 tsp. ready mustard
  • pepper
  • 2 tbsp. l. flour
  • 200 gr. smoked bacon

Cooking method:

  1. Beat the egg with salt and pepper. Pour into the minced meat and knead. Add flour, mustard and any spices to taste.
  2. Cover a baking sheet with parchment and grease well with any oil.
  3. Place bacon slices on cling film without gaps.
  4. Roll the minced meat into a briquette or brick, transfer it to the bacon and wrap it around it.
  5. Place the roll on parchment and place in a hot oven. Bake at 180 degrees for about an hour.

Recipe for fish with bacon and herbs

Ingredients:

  • 2 fillets of any light fish (solefish will not work)
  • 1 tooth garlic
  • 2 tbsp. l. dry provencal herbs
  • 4 slices smoked bacon
  • olive oil
  • dill greens

Cooking method:

  1. Pour a tablespoon of olive oil into a heatproof bowl.
  2. Rub the fish fillet with salt and herbs.
  3. Chop the dill very finely, grate the garlic and mix with the dill. Apply the mixture with massaging movements onto the fillet.
  4. Place the fillet in a baking dish and arrange the bacon slices on top in waves.
  5. Bake at 180 degrees for about 20 minutes. When serving, garnish with lemon slices, olives and fresh vegetables.

Bacon Wrapped Potatoes Recipe

Ingredients:

  • 1 kg small potatoes
  • 200 gr. thin slices of bacon
  • vegetable oil

Cooking method:

  1. Wash the potatoes and peel them with a special knife.
  2. Boil the potatoes until half cooked in salted water. Drain and cool slightly.
  3. Grease a deep baking tray or mold with vegetable oil.

Wrap the potatoes tightly in slices of bacon and place in the pan. Bake in a hot oven for 20 minutes.

Before I start, I’ll answer a possible question: which recipe do I think is the best? In my opinion, cooking bacon in a frying pan is the most difficult, plus it’s not very neat at home. Of course, it will be easier in the microwave, but personally, I don’t really like fiddling with paper napkins or towels. What remains is the oven - a great option. Cooked in the oven, bacon develops a wonderful flavor and a very crisp texture.

In short, if you want to impress someone with your culinary skills, it's better to cook in a frying pan. If you don't have time, use the microwave, and if you want to achieve the best result, then choose the oven. So let's get started.

Recipe 1: Cooking bacon in a frying pan

Step 1: Place 3-4 slices of bacon in the pan and turn the heat to just below medium. Our goal is to “fry” as much fat as possible, but in no case burn it.

Step 2: Turn the bacon constantly as it cooks so that it browns evenly on both sides. If suddenly too much fat comes out, then the excess can be poured into some container. Be careful that the bacon does not burn - if you notice that it is burning, you need to urgently reduce the heat. Of course, it all depends on the thickness of the slices and their quantity, but on average 10-15 minutes will be enough. You will know the bacon is ready when it turns a dark brown color. Then wrap the bacon slices in paper towels. As the paper towels absorb the grease, the bacon will have a crisp texture.

Recipe 2: Cooking bacon in the microwave

Step 1: Take a plate, place two paper towels on it, and 3-4 strips of bacon on them so that they do not touch. After this, cover the top of the bacon with a paper towel, otherwise it will splatter grease all over the microwave! Just place the napkin on the bacon without pressing it, otherwise it won't be quite what we want...

Step 2: Place the plate of bacon in the microwave, turn it on to maximum power and set the time to 3 minutes. Check if the bacon is ready, if not, turn on the microwave for another 30 seconds (our microwave wattages may vary slightly, so adjust according to yours).

Recipe 3: Cooking bacon in the oven

Step 1: Set the knob to the middle position and preheat the oven to 200°C.

Step 2: Wrap a baking sheet with aluminum foil. Next, place the bacon slices parallel to each other on the baking sheet.

Step 3: Place the baking sheet in the oven. During the cooking process, check if there is any excess fat; if there is, drain it, we don’t need it.

Step 4: The bacon should be crispy in 15-20 minutes. Remove it from the oven and use paper towels to absorb any remaining grease.

As you can see, there is nothing complicated about any of the methods, so choose the one you like and go ahead and cook the bacon!
